Meet the Team
Adrian Neal BA(Hons) FCA
Adrian graduated from Leeds University in 1983, completing an honours degree in Accountancy and Economics. After deciding upon a career in public practice, he trained with a large regional firm of Chartered Accountants based in Leicester. In 1989, an opportunity presented itself for Adrian to move back to his home town of Market Harborough with the challenge of developing further the long established Berry's practice. He is now the eldest and still the tallest director in the practice and looks after a varied portfolio of clients, with particular expertise in the areas of haulage, construction, contractors, agriculture, retail and general owner-managed businesses.
Adrian is a keen cyclist, golfer and mountain walker with a passion for the Lake District. Following on from his rugby playing days, Adrian now chairs the finance committee of Market Harborough Rugby Club and frequently attends both home and away matches but purely as a spectator! When not found watching rugby on a Saturday you will find him at the King Power Stadium continuing the trials of being a lifelong fan of Leicester City!

Mark Woods BSc(Hons) FCA
Mark graduated from Kent University in 1984, completing an honours degree in Chemistry. After deciding upon a career in accountancy Mark trained with a large firm of Chartered Accountants in Leicester. In 1988 he moved to a national firm based in their Leicester and Hinckley offices and gained experience of both small and medium owner-managed businesses. Mark established his own practice after a management buyout of the Hinckley office. In 2001, he merged with Berry's and brought with him a wide knowledge of private practice and commercial life. Mark now deals with corporate services, audit, taxation, corporate finance, management buyouts and strategic long-term tax planning.
Mark's interests outside of the office include golf and rugby. He now coaches the junior section at Oakham Rugby Club.

Sunita Khurmi BA (Hons) CTA, FCCA

She started her career as an accountant and is now a Fellow of Association of Certified Accountants. Sunita went on to specialise in taxation and is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor.
In 2007, the rural life beckoned and Sunita and her family moved to the stunning countryside of Rutland. She also joined Berry's heading up our tax department, overseeing all areas of taxation within the firm.

David Mugridge
David was born in Market Harborough and undertook his initial accountancy training at Leicester Polytechnic before continuing this "in house" with Berry Accountants Ltd, under the critical eye of his father, who was partner for 21 years with David Holyland.
David deals personally with a wide variety of small businesses and personal tax cases, but specialises in Rural and Agricultural clients.
To relax, David enjoys spending quality time with his family, especially holidaying in "interesting places" and assisting in local charity work.

Simon Holyland
Simon first started at Berry Accountants Ltd in 1984 as an accounts clerk. He became IT Manager in 1996 overseeing the introduction of the office’s first full computer network and has been involved in it’s development ever since, with additions of software covering all areas of tax, accountancy and practice management. Simon has also developed Excel-based solutions for clients and in-office systems.
Outside of work, Simon helps out with lighting for local theatre groups, for which he also designs programmes and posters. In addition to 2d design, he is also developing an interest in 3d motion graphics. None of which helps his image as a “bit of a computer geek”.
He is a keen non-golfer.
